We're located on the Grand Rivers, so we've got plenty of water features to enjoy. Only an hour and a half away from Toronto—so when you're done enjoying our community's beautiful rivers, you can head back to the big city in no time!
Elora and Fergus are the two largest cities within Centre Wellington, located in the heart of Southern Ontario, just 30 minutes north of Guelph.

Getting To Elora & Fergus
If you're looking to get to Elora & Fergus and coming from Toronto, Windsor, Hamilton, or Ottawa, here's how you can make it happen. We've driving distances, estimated drive times and maps for several destinations within Ontario.
There are no trains or buses that go directly to Elora or Fergus. So if you plan to take public transit, the closest bus and train station is Guelph.
The distance from Guelph to Elora & Fergus is 22km.
From Toronto it's a one-hour drive on Highway 401 West, then exit onto Highway 6 North for about 45 minutes.
A beautiful country drive especially in the autumn season.

Public Parking
There are plenty of municipal parking lots around Elora for your vehicle. Seasonally it can get very busy, we recommend coming early to make sure you get a good spot.
On special holiday weekends from June to November, Elora closes the two main downtown streets for pedestrian access only.
There are four Municipal parking lots in downtown Elora.
Geddes Street at East Mill Street
MacDonald Square at the Centre Wellington Civic Centre
Metcalfe Street
Carlton Street at Metcalfe Street
There are five municipal parking lots located in downtown Fergus:
St George Street W across from Fergus Curling Club
St George Street W at the Fergus Curling Club
Provost Lane at St Patrick Street W
Menzies Lane behind the Fergus Public Library
Queen Street W behind the Fergus Market Place
Street Closures
The village of Elora and the Township of Centre Wellington close off the downtown streets entirely for pedestrian street traffic on special holiday weekends. You can walk around the historic downtown during the summer and autumn months.
Street closures begin Saturday at 9 am and re-open at 7 pm Sunday.
The following Elora streets will be affected by the closure:
Saturday, June 18 - 19
Friday, July 1 - 3
Saturday, July 30 - Aug. 1
Saturday, Sept. 3 - 5
A free shuttle bus option is being offered on Sundays to the Grand River Raceway & The GrandWay Events Centre
Public Washrooms
Public washrooms are available downtown Elora at the visitors centre (10 East Mill) or Bissel Park (127 E Mill St).
There are also portable washrooms located in Victoria Park in Elora.

Stop in and visit the Elora Information Centre located downtown Elora for maps, local restaurant guides, information, etc.
The Elora Info Cente is open from 11–4 pm.
