The Grand River Raceway in Elora, Ontario, is most famous for its racing events throughout the summer and fall. But it offers much more all year round!

Elora's Grand River Raceway is home to harness racing (also known as "standardbred" racing.) When you attend a race night at the raceway, you can watch the races on the track, bet on them using one of their self-serve machines, or visit one of their tellers inside the building. The Elements Casino offers over 500 electronic gaming slots. If you feel like taking a chance, then there's plenty of opportunity for fun!

Can't forget the food. There are two onsite restaurants and food trucks during the racing season.

Grand River Raceway Elora

Grand River Raceway is a seasonal racing facility, but the Elements Casino is open year-round. The GrandWay Events Centre also hosts events throughout the year. If you're looking for fun things to do in Elora, the Grand River Raceway is a popular attraction for many visitors.

Grand River Raceway hosts live harness racing (also known as Standardbred), on Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday nights from June until September. They frequently have extra special events on race nights. In addition to all this exciting activity, Grand River Raceway has an on-site restaurant with delicious food and full bar service.

Restaurant & Buffet Options

The Grand River Raceway has two dining options.

  • The GrandWay Lounge is a pub-style restaurant with a casual atmosphere and big-screen TVs showing the racing action. The restaurant's menu is pub fare, fries and burgers are their specialties! There's a lot of space to spread out and relax on the lounge's couches while enjoying a beverage or snack as you watch the races. It's steps away from the track, and easy to walk outside and watch the horses up close!

  • Buffet dining in Captain's Quarters. Located on the second floor, guests can enjoy views through large windows overlooking the track.

Due to COVID buffet dining may be closed. Be sure to check the official website for up-to-date dining options and restrictions.

There are also food trucks available during all race dates for something quick!

There is plenty of free parking on-site for a snack and some events.

Grand River Agricultural Society

The non-profit Grand River Agricultural Society (GRAS) owns and operates the Grand River Racew and The GrandWay Events Centre and is dedicated to supporting the local community.

Its mission is to promote agriculture and contribute to agricultural, environmental and educational endeavours within the area. They also support local community events by providing bursaries, scholarships and grants, and donations.
